A Gift for You!

Lilian designed the latest sketch at The Sugar Bowl...it is nice and simple, leaving you to fill it as you will! As always I've gone for the less is more style...even though I did try to add more flowers it just didn't flow for me...BIG sigh!! I need more practice!!

This is the latest stamp to escape from the "never seen ink in all it's days" box....a lil beauty which would serve many occasions methinks.

I teamed her up with some Basic Grey Wisteria and Prima leaves and flowers.

The added extra for this challenge is "pearls"....again the less is more won over!!

OK...I'm off to STUDY the flower-thing!! bx

Crafty Creations - A 3 2 1 recipe!

My turn to set the theme this week at Crafty Creations. I came up with this recipe challenge:

3 patterned papers

2 ribbons (or trims)
1 charm

Of course your project can have more than this on it, but this is the minimum!

As Mo's Digital Pencil is sponsoring our challenge this week I got to inking up this fab image I got a while ago! I love these 2 characters, and this sentiment came with it!

My 3 patterned papers are from Basic Grey (Nook & Pantry), I think the pink twisty ribbon is by Making Memories and the lace trim is from Walmart, and I got this girly charm from Bunny Zoe's online store!

I must say the other DT girls have come up triumphs with their fabulous projects! I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with using the recipe! bx

Deb's Candy!

Would you look at this yummy candy...waiting to go to a new home...? Deb is celebrating a return to all things crafty - pop over and welcome her back!! bx

Happy Birthday Anya!

I inked up this groovy chick for a couple of challenges! Firstly it's for the challenge at Anyone for Anya (been a while since I joined in there and their birthday hop seemed like the ideal time to join in!!). The theme is "Happy Birthday Anya" - and this gal certainly looks as if she's all ready to partaaaay!
I used the sketch at Friday Sketchers - thank you ladies, I enjoyed your sketch.
Stamp With Fun's theme is "a card for a girl".
And finally I'm entering this into the challenge at Stamping for the Weekend as their challenge is "anything goes"! bx

Sugar Bowl Challenge 41

I finally got some time this morning to have a play in the "toy" room...and I thought I'd start with The Sugar Bowl challenge...well, the prize is pretty awesome!!

This year is zooming at a furious rate and I need to get lots more christmas cards made so that led me to choose this Diane Duda Penguin stamp. I love the tender expressions these 2 share (awwwww)!

I christened my magnolia swirly doohickey and placed 3 around the image (but if this does not meet the requirements of this sketch thats ok).

I've just realised that this also fits the theme at A Spoon Full of Sugar (Christmas in August) so I'm entering this card there!

Right I'm off back up to the toyroom!! bx

Edit: What I forgot to mention (and you can't even see in the photo) is that I stamped, coloured and cut out a 2nd Mrs Penguin and HALF glued to the first layer, and put 1mm foam pads on the other half so that there is a bit of dimension on the card!

Flutterby Butterfly!

The new challenge this week at Crafty Creations is "butterflies"....I am not into butterflies in the big way that so many in craftland are, but I do love this lil charm! But as long as there is one butterfly on your creation that is fine!!

I "christened" my new wee stamp for this challenge...i think she is soooo cute! I've used some yummy MME papers, some Prima flowers...yep, pretty much the usual from me!!

Of course we have a fab prize on offer from Simon Says Stamp, so I hope you can get the chance to join us this week! bx

A Couple of Tilda's....

I'm entering this cutie into the Totally Tilda challenge - they want to see Stitching on your card...this is one of my favourite ways to decorate a card! I have stitched a little tag on this card (r hand side)!

And just for fun I'm going to enter this Tilda into the Allsorts Challenge - they would like to see Paper Piecing - another fun technique! I thought Tilda looked cute in her paper pieced wellies....fortunately we're still sportin' the flip flops for another while!! lol bx

Winged Things....

....and so another Wednesday roooolls right around...and that means a brand new challenge at Crafty Creations!! The theme this week is a z fold card and "winged things" ...is that a butterfly, a fairy a dragon-fly....can't wait to see all the intrepretations!!

We are sponsored this week by Robyn's Fetish digital stamps and the DT got to use a few images. But remember this "something different" kick I'm on...? Ok...well first I separated the dragonfly from the flower image and adhered my dragonfly to the inside of my card.

Secondly, after I'd coloured my flowers and leaves (with Prisma colours of course!), I cut them out....then I stitched the stems on some yummy My Mind's Eye paper.....then I "popped" the flowers and leaves on top with pop dots....(hope that makes sense!!).

The great thing about the z fold card is that when it's closed the dragonfly and flower are next to one another again, but when it's open, the dragonfly adds a little interest to the inside of the card!

Ok...don't forget "you gotta be in it to win it"......I can't wait to visit y'all to see what you come up with! bx

A fun-ghi...

Magnolia Stamp Lovers are looking for a male card this week....this is my first time entering this challenge, and thought I would share this card I made recently for my brother-in-law. He is a chef and uses LOTS of mushrooms!! lol
I am also going to enter this into Cute Card Thursday's "whateva" challenge! bx

Something Different....

........ever get in the mood to try a lil something different......well I thought I would!! I searched around for some new challenge sites, (wowee, have you seen how many there are now?!) I happened upon The Shabby Tea-room and fell in love!! Beautiful photograph challenges, beautiful DT entries....just heaven!
So...when my hubby brought us breakfast in this cute lil bag this morning I thought I'd start there....I used some K&Co papers, Prima bling and flower centre, a crocheted flower, a scrap of ribbon, a few pearls and a few Making Memories sparkly letters and hey presto....this is how I ended up!
I need more practice at the vintage look, but I sure can admire in the meantime!! bx

Back to School...

Uuuughhh...those dreaded words...i remember that horrible feeling even now! Even after aaallll those years!! lol
Back to school is the theme at Stamping for the Weekend, so a perfect excuse to ink up this Sarah Kay image. I've used October Afternoon and Scenic Route papers, and American Crafts Ribbon...the BARE patch at the side will be filled later with the recipients name...and now I'm thinking a wee charm wouldn't go amiss dangling from my ribbon either...hmmm...!
Ok...gotta go get the glad rags on...it's Pina Colada day! bx

CCC - Wedding or Anniversary!

The theme this week at Crafty Creations is "Wedding or Anniversary".....so I've entered one of the cards i was asked to make this summer.

I love easel cards and it gives plenty of space for personalisation! I've used a Magnolia image, Making Memories paper and letter tiles, Prima flowers, Doodlebug brad, I think the large letters are by American Crafts but sorry, not sure who makes the velvet trim!

I look forward to seeing your beautiful entries! bx

The Sugar Bowl - Do it yourself!

Oh I liked this DIY challenge at The Sugar Bowl....i looked through the gallery and chose sketch number 21...and finally joined in with the "smart" girls trying to get ahead of the christmas game!! lol
I got this stamp a while ago but it has remained uninked until now...and i decided to use this non-tradional paper (Basic Grey)because i thought the checked background matched his lil bonnet! I love non-traditional christmas colours so I'm happy with the result! bx

Tiets Candy!

I have always loved visiting Tiets blog...i love how she layers papers and makes unique and interesting projects...and now she has this wonderful candy to offer!! Thank you so much Tiets...for everything! bx

Summer Lovin'...

We have a nice "seasonal" theme for you this week at Crafty Creations....we want to see some "Summer Lovin'"....so let's see all things beachy and summery!

I think summer is my favourite season...i love the warmth, outdoor eating, cocktails...oh yes, a pina colada is on my summer to-do list!!

This challenge gave me the perfect excuse to get surfer Edwin inked up....and then i let this fab patterned paper do most of the work for me...i ripped and tore some paper to make the sea, and i added a lil banner and then finished with lots of stickles!

I must remember to add a photo of the card opened up though!!

Can't wait to see your summery options! bx

The Sugar Bowl - challenge 39!

I chose this cutie to enter the current Sugar Bowl challenge....this is the sketch and the optional extra was to include something blue....does turquoisy blue count...?!

Lots of my "usuals" on this one...My Mind's Eye papers, Prima flowers, Making Memories brads and of course my image is coloured with Prisma colours!

Hope you're enjoying your summer...mine's about to change!! bx

Deer Teacher!

This week we have the theme "happy or sweet" at Crafty Creations and are sponsored by "The Cutting Cafe" who supplied a few templates for us to use!
I chose the apple template and decided to make a thank you card for a teacher. How much sweeter can you get than a deer (Fiskars stamp)...i used some October Afternoon paper and die-cut, Making Memories letters, Hero Arts sentiment (thanks) and for a lil something different i pulled out the felt bag - the stalk and leaf are both made of felt...I do love different textures on projects!
I look forward to seeing everyone's "happy or sweet" projects this week! bx

It's a Sketch!

I'm trying desperately not to say it....but....it's Wednesday already...??? So that means it's time for a new challenge at Crafty Creations...my teamie Jeanet has created a fab lil sketch for us to play with.

I've used pirate Tilda this time...coloured her with Prisma's....dug into the paper archives and found some Basic Grey for a change....the sentiment (Woodware) is stamped on the Magnolia scroll; I've used 2 of my new Magnolia Doohickey's (am loving these), some trim and ribbon which were in the scraps box and a lil Magnolia rose to finish!

Hope you can join us this week - as always there's a fab prize to be won! bx

Monday, 12 July 2010

Ahoy!

We took our 2 nephews to Legoland last week....they LOVED the pirate show....complete with fights, back flips and drops into the moat from approx 50ft at times!! Chilly!! lol So I thought this lil guy would work well for Cormac's birthday at the end of this month!

I used some "old" Basic Grey that's been storing up, coloured with Prisma's, a few BG pearls, brads and ribbon (unknown) and a scrap of twine to finish!

I used the Friday Sketchers sketch - thank you ladies!
I am also entering this into the Double Dutch challenge which is Movie Madness - of course my title is Pirates of Penzance! Take a peek at their samples - they're fabulous!! bx

Sweet Boy!

There's a fabby sketch at The Sugar Bowl at the mo....with the option to use "scallops"...well WHAT an opportunity to christen my new Magnolia Doohickey die.....I must say I'm "tickled" with "Doohickey"...how did they come up with that name!!

Anyways....I used this cutie babe by Sugar Nellie (of course)...coloured him with Prismas....used papers by October Afternoon together with a scrap by Sassafras (I think!!)....sentiment is by Kim Hughes.....felt buttons by Making Memories...the blue scallop across the card is a piece of felt from my Granny's crafty stash that I "inherited".....not sure who the ribbon and teensy button is by!
Thanks for any sweet comments you may leave! bx

CCT - Schools out for Summer!

Our school kids finish on 30th June for their holiday...this is one of the cards I made for my nephew to give his teacher (I added her name after taking the photo)!
My sister has a dog which Jack adores, and he LOVED this image!! It's coloured with Prisma colour pencils; I've used a hotch-potch of papers and a die-cut from October Afternoon.

I'm entering this card into Cute Card Thursday's challenge for this week! bx

CCC - Make your own Button!

I couldn't wait to ink this cutie by Mo Manning....so she was first in line for the latest Crafty Creations Challenge - Make your own Button!! What a fun challenge set by Magda!!

I've been playing with "felt" this weather - just for something a lil different...I love the texture it brings to a project.

I created my button using 2 colours of felt and 2 sizes of my flower shaped nestabilities. The nestie cut through the felt like butter!! I then used my Big Bite to cut the 2 button holes. I tied some tulle through the holes, and layered again with a small Prima flower and finished it off with a pearl...et voila!!

As always there is a fab prize for one lucky winner - so why not see what you can come up with? bx

It's time for Ice-Cream....!

Ooooops...i'm quite late adding my card for the new theme at Crafty Creations.....just spent the day celebrating the "end of year" with my nephews and their mates!! it's become something of a tradition to party now!! I'd even arranged for our neighbour to come around in his ice-cream van...and that leads me nicely to my card....
...the new theme at Crafty Creations is Ice Cream and Cakes! Yummy!! I knew right away that i wanted to use this cute image by Sugar Nellie....a mix of papers by MME and October Afternoon....the sentiment is by Kim Hughes, a Prima flower, scrap of ribbon and a pearl (unknown) finish it off!
Hope you can join in with the challenge this week, as always there's a fab prize on offer for one lucky winner! Happy Summer everyone!! bx

Tuesday, 29 June 2010

happy Birthday to you...

This lil creation meets the current theme over at Stamp with Fun.

The image is by Sugar Nellie, the papers are by MME, sentiment is by Hero Arts, fuzzy brads by Creative Imaginations and doodlebug rub-ons to finish.
Are you all ready for "schools out..."? bx

Sugar Bowl challenge 37!

I finally got some time to join in The Sugar Bowl's latest sketch challenge (optional theme of girly and feminine).
I chose this un-inked beauty and brought her to life with some Prisma colour. I used some BG papers, a scrap of ribbon by Making Memories, some yummy Prima lace, BG pearls and brads by unknown!! I haven't added a sentiment yet - I'll do that when its needed! bx

Lets See You Shine!

This week it's the turn of Jenn to set the challenge at Crafty Creations and she wants to see us shine!! You can use anything sparkly on your project - glitter, gems, stickles the choice is yours!

I had been itching to ink up this Tilda and thought she'd be perfect for this challenge as those bubbles could take lots of stickles!!

I chose these MME papers as they are already embossed and sooo glittery! To take a further sparkly step I added a border of these sparkly "pearls"....so the result is one sparkly card!!
There's a fab prize on offer from Fresh Brewed Designs so I hope you get the chance to shine with us this week!! bx

It's a Stitch Up!

It's time for another challenge at Crafty Creations - and this time it's set by meeeee!! I just kept the challenge nice n simple this time....the challenge is "It's a Stitch Up"!! You simply need to add some stitching to your project...which can be sewn, drawn, rub-on's...it's your choice!
We were generously sponsored by Whimsy stamps and I chose this cutie. I thought this lil bear looked like it was flying, so I cut it out and adhered it to acetate so that it hovers!!

I used My Mind's Eye papers, an A Muse sentiment, a tiny Prima flower and a lil pearl in the centre. As I cut out the image I lost the swirly background that comes with it, so I used the same kind of "doodle" around my edges. Can you see my "stitches" (double click for a better view)? I used green embroidery thread to hand stitch 3 "kisses" to the left of my sentiment!!

I hope you get the chance to join us this week...there is a fabulous prize up for one lucky winner!! bx

Childs Play!

This week it's the turn of Deena to set the challenge at Crafty Creations Challenges.....she would like to see some "Child's Play"!!!

This week the sponsor is Meljen's Designs - and the DT had the pleasure of using some of her adorable digi designs on our projects this week!! I have used "Dolly" to decorate my "treat bag" which I'm sure any child (big or small!!) would love!!

Dolly is surrounded by stitches and hearts but I chose to cut her out; she fit just beautifully around my aperture...so I adapted her stitches and doodled them around the edges of the bag.

I've used some more October Afternoon papers from the "Fly a Kite" range which I think suit Dolly!! A felt button and 2 teeny "button" brads all by Making Memories finished the project!

Hope you find time for some "Child's Play" this week! bx
