Crafty Creations Challenges - #176 Embellish It!

We have a fab new theme for you at Crafty Creations Challenges today:

Embellish It!

Some people add TONS of embellies - and others go more for the CAS look - but for this theme we are asking you to use at least 3 different embellishments!

I finally got around to inking up this cute Tilda - she has a nice wee paper pieced dress, and the rest was coloured with copics.  I used MME papers.

Embellishment wise I used ribbon, pearls, flowers, a spiral flower thingy (sorry I'm not sure what these are properly called) and a punched tag!

Our lovely sponsor My Heart Pieces has a generous prize for one lucky random winner - will it be YOU?  Hope you can join in the fun! bx

Crafty Creations Challenges - #174 How Charming

.
Another circular card from me.......a new theme from Crafty Creations Challenges......

How Charming!

We are generously sponsored by our own team captain this week Deena (A Creative Need) - and she kindly gave us a few images to play with!

I chose this image "A Little Jar of Flowers"- the simplicity of it just immediately attracted me!

I simply coloured the image, then covered the jar part in glossy accents (because i covered it quite liberally it "buckled" ever so slightly - it gives the jar great dimension so that turned out great!!)

I used these pretty papers by Basic Grey (Kissing Booth) and i attached a teeny pearl charm (Jenni Bowlin) using a Making Memories hoop.  The sentiment is Penny Black.

For a peek at what my teamies created and for the details of the fab prize on offer this week - go here! bx

Freshly Brewed Designs is our fabulous sponsor this week - so for your chance to win a fab prize and to see all the circle inspiration from my teamies pop over for a wee peek-see! bx

Yellow plus ONE colour choice

I am not normally a big fan of yellow - even though it is such a bright sunny colour - but it is a HOT trendy colour right now!! So we'd like you to choose one colour to team up with yellow!  I do like the classic grey and yellow combo - so that's what i chose.

Crafty Creations Challenges - #165 Flower Power

The theme at Crafty Creations Challenges this week is

Flower Power

Couldn't be easier right...?

Although there are so many beautiful flowers to buy for our projects, i am really loving seeing all the different flowers that crafters are MAKING - so I decided to try one of these "loopy" flowers myself!  So much FUN and super easy - using one of MFT die-namics that is!! And this flower is a bit special - you see it allowed me to dip into my Granny's bag of felt, and that i LOVED!

I saw this cute "candy gift-wrap" idea when blog-hopping (SO SORRY, I have no idea when or where!!) and decided to try one myself....using some Bassill Basic card stock and gorgeous October afternoon paper! I adorned my project with seam-binding (OA) and a flower brad (Girls Paperie).

(I also used dies from Magnolia, Spellbinders and 2 from MFT).

This week our fabulous sponsor is Whiff of Joy...so for your chance to win a fab prize and to see what my teamies have created please take a peek here! bx

Crafty Creations Challenges - #158 Fancy Folds

Naughty Blogger - playing up on me AGAIN!! I couldn't get my post done on Wednesday - had to wait until my IT genius returned today - WHAT would I do without him!!!!!

Anyway....the theme this week at Crafty Creations Challenges is.....

Fancy Folds

I watched a video of Teresa Collins making this dinky lil 4"x4" mini matchbook album from ONE sheet of 12"x12" patterned paper.  I had to give it a go straight away!!

I used this yummy pink spot paper by Girls Paperie, accented with a few die cuts from October Afternoon, a gem from Recollections, sentiment from Cornish Heritage (I'm almost sure!!) and FOLDED some Pink Paisley tissue paper to create that lil pleat!  With the great instructions it was very easy and FUN!
As you can see I still have to decorate the insides.....
This is how it all folds up - so cute!!  I left out one of the inside strips to allow some "bulk" from embellishments etc!!

Our fab sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish - so please join in and show us your Fancy Folds for your chance to win a fab prize! bx

Crafty Creations Challenges - #156 Swirly Whirly

This week we have a fun new challenge for you at Crafty Creations Challenges - here it is:

Swirly Whirly

Claire set this week's challenge - and she is also generously sponsoring (Hope Jacare Doodles) this week too!!  She kindly gave the team some images to play with - I loved this wise ol' owl as soon as I saw him!

I coloured "oh wise one" with copics, and thought that wood finish paper (My Mind's Eye) worked well as the background. I added a few pearl swirls to the card to continue the swirly theme, couple bits of trim, added a die-cut kinda swirly edge to his mat and I think that's it!

For your chance to win our fab prize this week come and show us your swirly projects! bx

Crafty Creations Challenges - #154 Valentine's for a child - Anything but a Card!

Gotta say I thoroughly enjoyed the valentine projects last week - and this week we are extending the LOVE theme because this weeks Crafty Creations Challenge is:

To Create Anything BUT a card - Valentine's for children!

How's about that for a fun lil challenge?

One of the sheets in the 6x6 paper pad Love Struck by We R Memory Keepers is perfect for chopping into little sections.....so I did exactly that! I then pulled out the ever faithful nesties and created a little mat.  I adhered 2 sparkly hearts (Making Memories) back to back with some wire in the middle x 3 sets.

Then i was ready to "sandwich" everything toegther - 2 of the (matted) sections (back to back) with a cocktail stick and hearts-on-a wire filling!

And there it was - the perfect topper for a red velvet cupcake with
coconut creme cheese frosting!

I have it on good authority (my handy 8 year old nephew) that it looked class and tasted delicious!!
I couldn't ask for a better critique than that!

Our wonderful sponsor this week is Digital Delights -
so please join us for your chance to win a fabulous prize! bx

EDITED:  OOoooops...i forgot to mention my little "finishing touch" on the cupcake - i got some of these die cuts on holiday - simply fold 'em, glue 'em and there you have a cute lil flower shape; which i finished off with a bright sparkly Prima gem!

I created this card using some of the gorgeous Love Struck collection by We R Memory Keepers - I saw this collection on holiday and just couldn't resist!!  The focal image is a die-cut from the collection - I've added a tissue paper pleat around the edge and popped it up a little for dimension....I love the fresh colours in this collection - all it needed was a few bits of trim and embellishments for the finishing touches! bx

Crafty Creations - #126 Paris

Bon jour mes amies!! And welcome to another fun theme at Crafty Creations Challenges.  This week Amy has set 2 elements to her challenge:

                                           1) Paris
                                           2) Anything BUT a card

For my creation I made "his n hers" luggage labels!  This challenge came at a GREAT time for me as I had planned to make luggage labels for our brand new shiny suitcases (and if all has gone to plan I have used them already on my holiday)!

I got out a favourite K&Co Maison 12x12 Scrap Pad which came complete with papers, die-cuts etc.  I used many elements from the scrap pad, some Tim Holtz tissue tape and finished by adding a little random stamping using some French themed postage stamps.  They were fun but simple to make.  When I finished I sealed them in Lumin-It pouches (I got these recently at Dawn Bibby's store). I used my big bite to cut a hole and threaded some black jewellry cord through (as it's v sturdy)!  Et voila!!

(I have decorated the back also but as it has all our personal details I did not want to show it on here)!

BlackLeaf Studios are our fab sponsors this week - so I do hope you get the opportunity to join us and be in with the chance to win a fab prize!! Bon chance!! bx

Crafty Creations - #124 Sparkle

We have a new challenge at Crafty Creations this week set by Dawn - she would like us to SPARKLE!

We are generouslly sponsored by Wags n Whiskers and had some of their newly released images to play with! I chose this cute princess.  I pulled out this paper by Little Yellow Bicycle because it's lovely and shiny and SPARKLY (and i like that it's a different shape than normal)!!

I used lots of eensy teensy gemstones on Millie's flowers and crown, stickles on Millie's dress, my spotty ribbon has a nice wee sheen to it and finally the Jenni Bowlin pin has a lovely sparkly diamonte band below the pearl - so there we have it - Millie the princess, sooooo pretty in pink and full of shiny sparkle!!

Can't wait to see what you all come up with this week - and we have a fab prize for one lucky entry! bx
