Crafty Creations - Heat it Up!

A fun new challenge for us this week at Crafty Creations - January is usually a pretty cold n chilly month - sooooooooLet's Heat it Up!

Lots of options for this challenge - hot colour combos, sandy shores, hot drinks, heat emboss - what will YOU think of?

I wanted to use a colour combo that i love - hot pink and orange....but as you can see a lil turquoise also crept in!! lol  I also "christened" another of my christmas presents with this fab (Sugar Nellie) image - I chose this image as she is having a hot drink....so perfect for this challenge!

If all has gone to plan, I am away on a trip with the hubster but I do hope you can join us this week - our fabulous sponsor is Whiff of Joy so please pop across to Crafty Creations for more details! bx

Crafty Creations - It's a Bird Thing!

Time for a new challenge at Crafty Creations - and this time there is 3 parts to the challenge!

1.  use a bird
2. use polka dots
3.  use green

This is my take on the challenge.  That fab bling birdcage is by Prima and I really wanted to make a feature of it....but my "bird" longed for freedom!! lol  I lightly inked around the bird stamp edges (stamp by Memory Box) and stamped onto a scrap of My Mind's Eye paper, cut it out and popped it on foam pads.  The papers are by My Mind's Eye and .  The sentiment is by Hero Arts.

I do hope you can join in the fun! bx

The Sugar Bowl - Challenge 51

I couldn't say how long it's been since I got organised to enter a challenge - but here's my first one for 2011!  This is Kiki's sketch at The Sugar Bowl.

I've coloured "No 1 fan" (so good to see some guys in the last collection) with my Prisma's, used some My Mind's Eye papers, a Hero Arts sentiment and a few brads (unknown) to finish...guy's cards need to be quite fuss free but i think "dude" and this paper say it all!! bx

Crafty Creations - New Beginnings!

The new challenge at Crafty Creations is New Beginnings - and i am soooooooo late with my entry!  I certainly hope that this is NOT my new beginnings!!

Pink Gem Designs is our fab sponsor for this challenge but as I was so behind I had a lil rummage through my huge box of uninked rubber and found this lil LOTV cutie which I thought would fit this challenge perfectly!

I've coloured her with my Prisma pencils, used some yummy Basic Grey papers and pearls and a Martha Stewart ribbon (tied to represent her school tie), the sentiment is by Woodware!

Oh it's good to back in the saddle after so long...i hope you get the chance to join in the fun! bx

Crafty Creations - A Photo Inspiration!

Isn't this photo just dreamy...i looooove the soft colours, the mix of patterns/textures, the hint of vintage with pretty new ruffled bedding....and it just happens to be the photograph inspiration for this week's challenge at Crafty Creations!   Here's how I interpreted it:

I followed the patchwork effect using some scrap papers (Doodlebug, Melissa Frances and My Mind's Eye), stamped the sentiment by Penny Black and cut it out using a Magnolia Doohickey...the flowers and pearl swirl are by Prima; the pink pearls are by Basic Grey...sorry i can't remember who supplies the ribbon or pearl pin.

To see my fellow DT's interpretations and the prize on offer please pop across to Crafty Creations! bx

Crafty Creations - Bear projects

This week at Crafty Creations Claire wants to see all your projects using a bear....so sweet!!

We are proudly sponsored by Purple Panda who kindly gave us a few images to play with!!  By the way - Kayla is the artist and she is only 16 - isn't she a talented young lady?!

I chose this adorable lil guy...couldn't resist!!  I printed the image onto the spotty paper and cut it out...i cut foot pads and ear "bits" from scraps of pink and added a lil bow....sooo cute!!

I made a small box....and adhered the top and bottom to scalloped squares (cut by nesties)...the lid was layered then with patterned paper and my cute bear...oh, I almost forgot, I used my crop-a-dile to punch a hole in the lid and threaded some spotty ribbon (can't remember who this is made by) through so that the lid is easily removed!!  A few Basic Grey pearls finish my "beary sweet box" (nothing like blowing your own trumpet ehh girls?!! lol)

Hope you get the chance to join our fun challenge this week - there is a fab prize on offer for one lucky winner!!

A Head's up - you may like to know that we are planning a special event to celebrate our 100th challenge - lots of fun ahead!! bx

Thank you so much Erica - i shall enjoy this lot immensely!!

Sugar Nellie's "Grand" Competition - Round One!

Have you seen the new "toy" Spellbinders have released.....it's the Grand Calibur!! And it just happens to be the prize that Karen at Sugar Nellie is offering to one lucky winner in her Sassy Competition!!  Wouldn't that look GRAND under your christmas tree...or MINE?!!!  lol

After much debate I decided to crack open my christmas present and ink up a Sassy Gal to enter round one of the competition!  Karen wants to see WOW cards - White on White (she's a hard task master!!).  This is my entry:

I was going to make a "non-card" project but after checking the post again it stated card (I didn't want to take any chances!! lol) so i opted for a tent style card.

I chose the ultra cute Bella Bunting, coloured her with prisma pencils and then cut her out.  I paper pieced the banner with some of my favourite papers - My Mind's Eye of course!!    I cut 3 borders, layered them up and topped them off with some pom-pom trim.  I stitched around the edges a little, mounted my gal on foam squares and gave her centre stage!  Her "stage" is finished off with some sheer ribbon, a white Prima flower, a Creative Memories fuzzy brad, a Melissa Frances sentiment rub-on and 2 Basic Grey pearls to finish - lots of my favourite products on this card!!

Ok, I'll go enter my card now, I've already spotted one or two "crackers" so good luck to all! bx

Crafty Creations - A Giftcard Holder!

Jeanet chose a lovely theme this week at Crafty Creations - she wants to see a  Gift Card Holder!  Very handy for the upcoming season!

We have a fab prize from Simon Says Stamp this week - might get some-one a few extra goodies for the big day!

I have often seen these cute little projects on other blogs - but this is my first time making one...i enjoyed it thoroughly and as they are easily made, I'll make some more!!

I chose this lil elf image (Stampendous) as the matching sentiment is perfect for the project (I think!!).  I love the spotty MME paper...and i believe that lovely spotty ribbon came from my friend and fellow DT member Sharon (thanks hun...matches the paper perfectly!!).

I'm sure I'll get a few more ideas for projects this week when I visit you all - have fun creating!! bx

Crafty Creations - Christmas

Well it's getting all Christmassy over at Crafty Creations thanks to this week's hostess Amy!  We are kindly sponsored by Blackleaf Studios who are offering a fab prize to one lucky winner!!

I couldn't resist using this lil Magnolia Edwin for my card though (coloureed with Prisma pencils)....I wonder what's in that parcel he's holding so tightly?!!  This is a sketch from ages ago that i had printed out but didn't get around to using at the time....!  The papers are a mix from MME and The Girls Paperie.

I liked how this one turned out - thanks for visiting and for any comments - it's getting closer!! lol bx

Crafty Creations - Beautiful Insides!

Jaime set the challenge at Crafty Creations this week - Beautiful InsidesPlease pop over and have a look at all the fabulous projects the team created this week!

Instead of a card, I decided to make a "bag in a box" after seeing the fab tutorial by Beate!  I then used one of my nestie labels to create a tab for my bag of yummy Thorntons chocolates to go inside my bag!  I love the pretty papers and colours (more suited for Easter maybe rather than the upcoming Christmas celebrations!! lol)

The bag-in-a-box was soooo easy to make - I'll be making a few more of these methinks!

We are sponsored by Whiff of Joy this week - and have a beautiful stamp for one lucky (random) winner! bx

Crafty Creations - Buttons

This week at Crafty Creations it's Jenni's first turn as hostess and she has chosen the theme of "Buttons - either real or handmade"!

I opted for a lil change in style this week - and used this fab Magnolia christmas tree as the focal point of my card!  I simply "decorated" it with an itchy titchy star button!!  I also layered a couple of buttons and adhered that to the twine.

The yummy papers are by Memory Box - you will see that I opted for non-traditional christmas colours - my favourite kind!!

So a nice "easy" theme this week - buttons are so versatile I can't wait to see how many ways they are used in your projects this week! Thanks for visiting and for your sweet comments! bx

Simply.....

Wow...have you seen the latest beauties due for release by Sugar Nellie?  They ARE "Simply" beautiful!  The 2nd collection of Simpy Sassy is also due to be released soon......better get saving girls!!!!!!!!!! bx

Crafty Creations - Fables and Fairytales

Deena chose a "novel" theme for us all this week "Fables and Fairytales"!  We are sponsored by  Meljen's Designs and were given some cute images to work with....I loved this lil character and chose him!

Although, I must admit, this theme had me stumped!  First I thought i could try and make a castle for him...but he's a dwarf so the castle thing wouldn't work....then I thought I could make him a lil cottage....but I made the haunted house last week....so then i thought I'd have him out searching in the forrest for Snow White (obviously that's why he is unhappy....)  so I made this 3D card!!

I thought these Basic Grey papers were perfect for the "forrest" look; the fringes represent the foliage he has to trample through; the scrap of "net" and silver embellishments represent the "things" that dangle in a forrest (i'm not sure what they are exactly but there's always things "danglin'" in the forrest in the movies lol

So that is my lil project for this week - I ended up having a right laugh at my efforts, but that's part of the fun!! Please pop across to Crafty Creations and see the fab projects my teamies and our guests created and details on our fab prize!! bx

Motivet Sketch Challenge!

I love this wee Motivet image - and even better, i was lucky enough to WIN it!!  Yep, a while back i won the Motivet weekly draw for commenting - thanks again Motivet!!

I coloured the image with Prisma pencils, used Basic Grey papers, part of a verse stamp by Stampendous, a fuzzy brad by Creative Imaginations - but I'm afraid I do not remember who the ribbon, large snowflakes, snowflake trim and snowflake charm are by!!

Do you like his wee paper pierced boots - couldn't resist (thats a scrap of paper by Making Memories)!

I'm entering this card into the Motivet sketch challenge - and thats another christmas card made...phew!!

I'm also entering this into the Stampavie and More challenge as their theme this week is Christmas! bx

The Sugar Bowl Challenge 46

This week its Marlene's turn to create the sketch for The Sugar Bowl - and this is my entry!

I really need to get cracking with my christmas cards - don't want the panic setting in!! lol

I love this penguin couple - suitable for "old" couples and "new" couples!

I used Basic Grey papers, (part of a) sentiment by Stampendous, bling by Prima - sorry I can't remember where I got the 2 ribbons/trims!!

As always there is a FABULOUS prize on offer - too good to miss the chance really! bx

Crafty Creations - Fall or Halloween!

Halloween is almost upon us once more - so we have a very seasonal theme this week for you all at Crafty Creations!  Claire is sponsoring the prize this week and is offering some YUMMY MME goodies!!

After seeing this fab tutorial on Cosmo Cricket (thanks guys!!) I decided to have a lil go myself - and hey presto they're right - it IS easy and it IS addictive!!

I've made this lil treat bag from a 12x12 sheet of K & Co paper, used some Bo Bunny paper trims, and ready to go stickers by Bo Bunny and 7 Gypsies (bling, brads and ribbon from stash!).

I'm looking forward to seeing all your fab projects this week! bx

Crafty Creations - A Colour Recipe!

This week at Crafty Creations "our" Melissa has set a colour challenge for us all!!  She wants to see red, brown and green on our projects (you can have other colours but these 3 colours must feature).

Our sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear Stamps who kindly gave us 4 images to work with this week!  I loved this lil witch - she looks a bit sad but that makes her so adorable in my book!!

I coloured her with Prisma pencils, used some Basic Grey papers and MME (the scalloped edge), the tiny sentiment is cut from a Halloween sheet by 7 gypsies, the bat brad is by Making Memories.

So that's it - i felt like doing something a little different this week - so I created a scene (like a proper drama queen!!).  Now......can the eagle eyed among you spot my mistake?....I started to type my 'fession but then I thought I'd see if anyone else spotted it....?

I can't wait to see what you all come up with this week! bx

The Sugar Bowl - Tiet's Sketch!

Tiets has returned to the Sugar Bowl (yaaay) and she produced this awesome sketch!! I am usually very CAS - but i always admire the layers that Tiets adds to her cards....so when I saw this sketch i was determined to give it a go!!

So this is my take of the sketch - together with this cute girl and lots of yummy MME papers!!  I think the colours of the papers lend themselves to the optional theme of Autumn...maybe "she" is crossing her fingers in the hope that summer lingers on for a while...? lol

I coloured the image with Prismas; used an A Muse sentiment, used some 7 gypsies waxed thread for the stitches; added Papermania bling but can't remember where i recycled that raffia-type trim from!!

I'm also going to enter this card to the Cute Card Thursday theme which is "What's buggin' you?" - thanks to my lil butterfly!! bx

Crafty Creations - Show a Number!

This week at Crafty Creations Sharon is hosting her first challenge - she wants so see a number somewhere on your project!

We are sponsored by Sketching Stamper this week.  Each DT member was lucky enough to be able to choose an image to work with - I have to say it was a difficult decision (check out those pumkins, the pram  and the shoe!!) but I chose this image (any guesses who might get this lil "number"? lol)!

I coloured with Prisma pencils, used MME papers, Making Memories alpha's, the word Love is a stamp by Kim Hughes, Prima letters/numbers and Prima bling (twine unknown and the doily is from a restaurant!! lol)

Do check out the Sketching Stamper site for amazing inspiration - Chris's colouring is simply amazing!

My teamies have come up with some cool projects - please stop by and have a look! bx

Crafty Creations - A Sketch plus!

This week at Crafty Creations Jeanet created a fabulous sketch for us to use - but she added another 2 elements:

1.  you must use a rubber stamp on the project
2.  you must use lace or ribbon

I decided to use my gorgeous new LOTV christening stamp which i coloured with Prisma colours.  I used some Prima papers and flowers - also new!  The little beads on a stem are recycled from my cousins wedding stationery!!

I do hope you can join us this week - there is a fabulous $20 gift certificate to be won!!  My teamies have created a range of beautiful projects - you can see them here!! bx

Crafty Creations - Falling Leaves

Here we are with a new challenge once again......i am shocked how fast these weeks are flying by....!! This week Jaime set the challenge - Falling Leaves! We have certainly been having autumn weather in this neck of the woods!!

I am ashamed to say that this is the first time this stamp has been inked up...but I thought she was perfect for this challenge. I coloured her with Prisma pencils and pulled out an older collection of Basic Grey, with perfect fall colours! I stamped the leaves onto scraps, cut them out and crumpled them slightly. That trim is by Making Memories and the pearls are also Basic Grey.

So to see what my awesome teamies have come up with and for your chance to win a fab prize please join us here!! bx

The Sugar Bowl - Judy's Sketch

I made this card for the current sketch at The Sugar Bowl and promptly forgot to include buttons - good job the theme is now optional!!

Thank goodness to get this gal inked....she is a cutie!! I teamed her up with some Basic Grey papers, prima flowers, Basic Grey pearls, a butterfly stamp by Memory Box and zig zag trim is unknown! I'll add a sentiment when I need to use the card!!

Because of the lil butterfly this card is also eligible for the challenge at Cute Card Thursday!!

It's a horrible rainy day here...and I have errands to run...no jammie day for me today...sigh!! bx
