Crafty Creations Challenges - #154 Valentine's for a child - Anything but a Card!

Gotta say I thoroughly enjoyed the valentine projects last week - and this week we are extending the LOVE theme because this weeks Crafty Creations Challenge is:

To Create Anything BUT a card - Valentine's for children!

How's about that for a fun lil challenge?

One of the sheets in the 6x6 paper pad Love Struck by We R Memory Keepers is perfect for chopping into little sections.....so I did exactly that! I then pulled out the ever faithful nesties and created a little mat.  I adhered 2 sparkly hearts (Making Memories) back to back with some wire in the middle x 3 sets.

Then i was ready to "sandwich" everything toegther - 2 of the (matted) sections (back to back) with a cocktail stick and hearts-on-a wire filling!

And there it was - the perfect topper for a red velvet cupcake with
coconut creme cheese frosting!

I have it on good authority (my handy 8 year old nephew) that it looked class and tasted delicious!!
I couldn't ask for a better critique than that!

Our wonderful sponsor this week is Digital Delights -
so please join us for your chance to win a fabulous prize! bx

EDITED:  OOoooops...i forgot to mention my little "finishing touch" on the cupcake - i got some of these die cuts on holiday - simply fold 'em, glue 'em and there you have a cute lil flower shape; which i finished off with a bright sparkly Prima gem!

Crafty Creations Challenges - #153 Valentines

Time for another sweet theme at Crafty Creations Challenges - this week the theme is:

Valentine's

We are kindly sponsored by Whiff of Joy this week so I hope you get the chance to join us - to be in with your chance of winning a fabulous prize!  And you'll be ready ahead of time with your loving creations!!

I created this card using some of the gorgeous Love Struck collection by We R Memory Keepers - I saw this collection on holiday and just couldn't resist!!  The focal image is a die-cut from the collection - I've added a tissue paper pleat around the edge and popped it up a little for dimension....I love the fresh colours in this collection - all it needed was a few bits of trim and embellishments for the finishing touches! bx

I'm sure most people got plenty new bits n bobs at christmas...so nows the chance to show them off!!  I used 2 new dies (MFT) -  the scallop and banner, a new image (Stamping Bella), and new trim (Girls Paperie) in my creation!

Crafty Creations - #126 Paris

Bon jour mes amies!! And welcome to another fun theme at Crafty Creations Challenges.  This week Amy has set 2 elements to her challenge:

                                           1) Paris
                                           2) Anything BUT a card

For my creation I made "his n hers" luggage labels!  This challenge came at a GREAT time for me as I had planned to make luggage labels for our brand new shiny suitcases (and if all has gone to plan I have used them already on my holiday)!

I got out a favourite K&Co Maison 12x12 Scrap Pad which came complete with papers, die-cuts etc.  I used many elements from the scrap pad, some Tim Holtz tissue tape and finished by adding a little random stamping using some French themed postage stamps.  They were fun but simple to make.  When I finished I sealed them in Lumin-It pouches (I got these recently at Dawn Bibby's store). I used my big bite to cut a hole and threaded some black jewellry cord through (as it's v sturdy)!  Et voila!!

(I have decorated the back also but as it has all our personal details I did not want to show it on here)!

BlackLeaf Studios are our fab sponsors this week - so I do hope you get the opportunity to join us and be in with the chance to win a fab prize!! Bon chance!! bx

Crafty Creations - #124 Sparkle

We have a new challenge at Crafty Creations this week set by Dawn - she would like us to SPARKLE!

We are generouslly sponsored by Wags n Whiskers and had some of their newly released images to play with! I chose this cute princess.  I pulled out this paper by Little Yellow Bicycle because it's lovely and shiny and SPARKLY (and i like that it's a different shape than normal)!!

I used lots of eensy teensy gemstones on Millie's flowers and crown, stickles on Millie's dress, my spotty ribbon has a nice wee sheen to it and finally the Jenni Bowlin pin has a lovely sparkly diamonte band below the pearl - so there we have it - Millie the princess, sooooo pretty in pink and full of shiny sparkle!!

Can't wait to see what you all come up with this week - and we have a fab prize for one lucky entry! bx

It's my turn to set the challenge at Crafty Creations Challenges this week - and i've set a Colour Challenge:

Pink n Orange

Oh yes - I want you all to go loud and pretty and bright!!  I was at an event recently and was delighted to see so many FAB outfits in this colour mix - one of my favourite combinations!!

2 Cute Rubber Stamps are our FABulous sponsor this week.  They kindly let us choose some adorably cute images from their store - I knew right away what i wanted to create when i saw this Flower Turtle - a SPINNER CARD.  I think you can see clearly that I cut a channel for my Flower Turtle image to "roll along" (using 2 pennies sandwiched with a circular foam dot).

My cardstock/papers are Bazzill Basics, MME, Making Memories; the felt heart is by KI Memories; I used a Dymo label maker for my sentiment (sorry about that glare!!) and I can't remember who makes that trim!

So that's my creation - I can't wait to see lots of fabulous pink and orange projects this week - as always there is a great prize for one lucky winner! bx

Tiffany Doodles is kindly sponsoring Crafty Creations Challenges this week - and generously let us choose which image we'd like to work with - I was spoilt for choice but opted for this gorgeous Pussy Willow.

I coloured lightly with copics, and added some White Stuff to give the puffed up look.  I've inked around the image with Wheat ink.  The sentiment is Hero Arts, the paper is Girls Paperie, the Basic Grey pearls and (unknown) trim finish it all off - clean and simple!

So lets see your May Flowers - as always there is a fab prize for one lucky winner! bx

Crafty Creations - Feminine Birthday in Blues & Greens!

Time for another fun challenge at Crafty Creations - this week Deena has set the theme -

Feminine Birthday in Blues and Greens

I inked up this LOTV cutie (my hubby did a GREAT job of choosing these images for me for christmas - thanks again babe!).  I coloured using copic pens - definitely a STEEP learning curve for me!! lol  Basic Grey to the rescue with these fab Marjolaine papers - love them!  The sentiment is by Hero Arts.

A few people mentioned my flowers last week (thank you!!)...I am loving those myself and created them using this fab lil die!!  Of course you can make them without the die by cutting out a circle (you can use your nesties for this stage), then cutting a spiral within your shape - but this die makes it soooooo much easier and I think a much nicer end result!

I did go back and add a pearl to the centre of my green rolled flower (just didn't get around to re-photographing the result!)

So that's my card for this theme, my teamies have also created some beautiful cards, including images by our fabulous sponsor Digis with Attitude....I hope you can join in the fun! bx
