Have a Swinging Day!

The theme this week at "Just Magnolia" is "anything goes"...nice and easy there then!! So this lil sweetie on the swing will fit right in!!

And I think it also qualifies for Cute Card Thursday's "Make your own" theme this week with my MIY butterflies!! I randomly cut the butterflies from paper, on one I threaded seed beads through a staple and added that along the spine, thought that was much too fiddly (lol) and added lil sparkly pearls on the other 2, added a few dots or inked the edges and finished them off by twisting coloured wire for antennae...et voila!!

As my 2 strips are distressed the card also fits the challenge at Stampavie! bx

Crafty Creations - MYO Background Paper!

Already it's time for another challenge at Crafty Creations...Jenn is "challenging" us "to make your own background paper".

The Stamping Boutique are kindly sponsoring this challenge and the DT got to use a selection of their images for this challenge.

As soon as I saw this stiletto I knew I wanted to use it. I used Distress Ink to repeatedly stamp the FAB Tim Holtz image on kraft cardstock. (I left a bit blank at the bottom as I wanted to stamp the "outtie" part of my sentiment there)! I lightly distressed around the edges of the cardstock to antique it a little.

The "inny" of the card reads: "you can never have too many"!

Next I printed the shoe (Stamping Boutique) on Kraft paper, then used my leopard print background stamp (and more distress ink of course) to jazz it a lil!! A few black pearls and that shoe is fit for dancing!!

A few trims and flowers and my card was complete. I LOVe the texture of that green trim...it is UBER soft!!

When I started this challenge I had all sorts running through my head, but I loved how this card turned out....simple but effective!! There are so many other ways to make your own background designs - with stencils, sprintzing inks, bleaching, stamping, embossing - the list is endless....why not break from the norm and try it yourself?!!

Gotta run...I hear the 'phone ringing...it might be Jimmy Choo!! bx
PS Sorry about the unedited photo...I've been trying to load my photo for almost 2 hours!! Naughty blogger!! lol

If you're not in....

...you can't win says Karen owner of Sugar Nellie!! She has thrown down a challenge to all the sugar addicts to dig out an older image and ink it up!!

I know that I have now accumulated a large amount of rubber - most of which is only being inked once!! I know that's shameful...but I see the new images...LOVe them...NEED them....HAVE to have them....but I know i'm not alone!!

So "Thank You" Karen for encouraging me to rummage and find this cutie at the bottom of my box!! She was a joy to colour...I even gave her a spottie headband and collar (might be a bit hard to see in the photo!!)

Oh, and the promise of sweet candy is also sooooooooooooooooooo exciting!!!! bx

Time to Spill the Beans!!

Finally I can share my lil bit of exciting news.....I am now on the Design Team for Crafty Creations Challenge!! I'm thrilled and honoured to join this fab team!!

This is my first DT card for Crafty Creations....the challenge this week is one of my favourites - "Distressing"! We have been sponsored by Softpencil and the lucky winner will receive a $15 gift voucher for the store!! My image is one of the cuties from Softpencil and was a pleasure to work with!
I hope you will be able to come join us all this week! bx

An Ice Day!!

I made this card recently for a "special" birthday!! The lady loves all things sweet and her beloved dog....so these Magnolia images were perfect for the job!!

My card fits these challenges:

Magnolia Down Under Challenges - their theme is masking

Stamp with Fun - their theme is animals

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Happy birthday!

Stampin' for the Weekend - Ribbons and Bows. If you feel a little adventurous you could take part in our extra recipe challenge: 3 Papers, 3 Embellishments (flowers, brads, letter stickers) and a Charm. Ok, I think I've got all those on my card....

And before I go, I have a lil secret to share....tomorrow!! bx

Have a Delicious Day!

This is another image from the Magnolia Spring Kit - one of my favourite kits ever!

I've used some Basic Grey (Green at Heart) papers for a change!! I am entering my card into the following challenges:

A Spoon Full of Sugar - I used their fab sketch....loved all the layers!
Cute Card Thursday - Touchy Feely challenge.....that green ribbon feels unbelievably soft!

Stamp Something - Something Layered....lots of lovely layers on this sketch!

I'm sure you noticed the little "highlights" on my gals dress....I dabbed a little stickles and left it to dry...when I came back I couldn't believe...the stickles had lifted the colour...what's that all about?....never happened to me before!!

I went to the Stitch & Craft show yesterday.....it was sooooooo disappointing again........last year I vowed NOT to return....but this year I mean it!! lol bx

Crafty Creations Limited Edition!

Wowser...this challenge was exactly that for me....challenging!! lol The Crafty Creations Limited Edition challenge asks you to create using:

1 designer paper

1 image

1 embellishment

...and even though I am a "simple" gal that's what I found difficult!! I kept thinking I'll use this or that...but no...only one embellishment allowed so I decided to go with this sheer ribbon as I could tie a big bow!!

This is the 2nd image from the fabulous Magnolia Spring Kit.....I think she is adorable!

Soooo nice that the sun is still shining here.....and at last my poor hubby is on his way home by train and boat after being stranded in London from yesterday morning! bx

Sugar Bowl Challenge No33!

I love the new sketch (designed by Gayle) for The Sugar Bowl's current challenge because of all the layers...the "please include" option is FLowers....

I've long since admired how many crafty gals have added floral clusters to their cards, and finally decided to give that a go myself....it'll take a bit of practice to get it looking "just so" but this is my first "effort"!! lol

I used this sweet gorjuss gal who is standing in a field of flowers, and of course I have used more gorgeous MME papers! bx

Happy Birthday Little Lady!

My new Magnolia kit landed on the mat on Monday and it's fab!! This is the first character I've inked up...she is soooo sweet!
I've used the gorgeous MME papers again, and used the sketch at Friday Sketchers to create this card.
I also want to add this card to the Papertake Weekly Challenge as their theme is "Cute"...well i think this wee lady is definitely that!!
Ok, lots to do today...the sun is still shining...yaaay! bx

Get in Shape!

I think this card works for the new challenge at Anyone for Anya...but I will stand corrected if it doesn't!! Here's the challenge:

it’s a 3-2-1 recipe challenge using shapes. So basically we want to see 3 different shapes on your card but 3 of 1 shape, 2 of another and 1 of a yet another. You can count your base card as 1 shape if you want to, and you can use whatever shapes you want.

3 shapes: square (my base card and 2 square patterned paper layers)

2 shapes: circle (my image and orange layer)

1 shape: oval (my sentiment mat)
The sun is shining gloriously here today...I guess it's our summer!! bx

Friday 9 April 2010

Hi ho, Hi ho....

We all know male cards need to be simple, right? So thats what ya got here...plain n simple...a lil guy whistling on his way to work...he has quite a walk ahead of him though...all the way to Tokyo!! lol
This week's challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar is "One for the Boys"...check
This week's challenge at Stampavie is "Use some green"....check
Gotta run gals...busy busy day today! bx

You choose your favourite sketch!!

I'm in such a rush to work....but HAD to get this entered for the current Sugar Bowl Challenge!!

This was a great challenge....choose your favourite sketch from the previous challenges!! I chose no 27 as I really enjoyed using it last time....I was desperate (lol) to get my entry in as the prize was soooooo goood...the latest collection of stamps from Leanne Ellis!!

This stamp has been waiting patiently for ink for quite some time now.....unfortunately my colouring skills need refreshed - I haven't coloured for a couple of weeks with one thing and another...but hey ho!!

I LOVE these MME papers...and I finally delved into this tin of gorgeous Prima flowers that I've been carefully hoarding!! You build the flower yourself, with as many layers and centre "thingies" as you want!!

My trip to Florence was wonderful...just over so fast! bx

Thursday 1 April 2010

Fishing you....

...all a VERY happy Easter!! I am heading off to Florence in the morning....it's a silly-o'clock rise for us and I am soooooo not looking forward to that!!

I see that Papertake Weekly have said an open theme this week....which doesn't even have to be easter related....so I have taken them at their word....this is a card I made recently for a cute lil guy!!
Crafty Creations Challenges also have an "anything goes" challenge this week, so I am also entering the card there!
As I have a lil doodling going on around my blue paper this card also fits Stamp Something's Doodle challenge!
Soooo.......fino al prossimo tempo i miei amici! bx
