Curly-Sue's Challenges!!

Emily (age 12) came to stay with me for a few days and of course she wanted to "play"!!! She made this christmas themed card for the Crafty Monkey's latest challenge! I've had this bear since the "year dot" and have loadsa newer christmas stamps...but she fancied this one!! She made a little white fun flock patch then stamped the bear into it...she might've had a little hand cutting out (she hates cutting out!!)...then she added a few little fluffy stuff lines for her cute bear to sit on while he admires the Fancy Pants snowflakes drift n twirl!!
Emy-Lou has a little "oooops" with the fun flock....she loooves "fun flock"!! Look at this beautiful naturally curly hair...who says I'm a doting aunt....?

Next up she wanted to play with the "big girls" haha!! She made this card for her daddy using the Friday Sketchers latest sketch. She chose the image and papers herself...and even cut this one out herself!! Only thing I did for her on this one was cut down her card and papers - she did everything else herself...didn't she do a fantastic job....she's had a great teacher you see hahahahahaha!!!!!

Home...is where the heart is!!

Mum and I had a little "investment" of some Elizabeth Bell designed sugar nellies!! We just couldn't resist any longer!! haha
I love this image...it is quite large so it broke me outta my current "square card" rut!! I had this basic grey paper on my desk...I had "chittered" it up for another card but it didn't quite come together...but I thought it matched the flowers in this image nicely...so here it is!! bx

Lovely Mail!

I have had TWO fabulous mail days this week!! The first beautiful card and prima flowers were sent to me by Johanna....have you ever been to "Bibbi's" blog....oh my word...you gotta check it out. Her creations are amazing...full of inspiration and beautiful "eye candy"...I LOVE my visits there....and I know that you will too...Thank you Johanna...I shall treasure this card!!
The next pack full of goodies arrived this morning from Claudia.....including a fab magnolia stamp!! It was a blog candy sponsored by Magnolia so "thank you" both - love these goodies.....lovely bright vibrant colours!! Papertake Weekly Sketch.

Oh boy I have struggled all week trying to get it together!! I really liked this sketch by Katharina which she created for Papertake Weekly...so thought that might be a starting place!!

I then pulled out these K&Co papers which I love, and found this cute Tilda which I received from a bloggin' buddy!! That vintage lace is from my Granny's stash....think I spoiled it all though with that black sister...ahh well...at least its a start!! bx

Emily's Crafty Monkeys Summertime Challenge!

Emily (age 12) made this summery card for the Crafty Monkey's current challenge! I showed her how to "mask" - this is her first attempt and I think she managed it perfectly!!
She looked through my stamp catalogue and picked these stamps out herself...she also picked out these papers - she loves these colours!! Then we both poked through the embellies to see what might suit...and we found this little sun...perfect for the hot summer days we DIDN'T have!! Although she did enjoy the pool in Florida and New York at the start of her summer holidays...she's not impressed her summer holibobs are almost over...so we won't mention that!!! Well done Em...I think you've made a fab card!! Aunty bx

Just for you!

This is another gorgeous Hanglar Stanglar image kindly sent to me by Frances...I tried a different colour scheme for me...it reminds me of a "jaffa cake"!! I was really just playing again which is fun to do every now n again!!

I love this scroll stamp by impression obsession...I've gone over the dots with dimensional paint....the same dimensional paint I used for my wedding invites....oh that brings me back!!

I'd like to thank each and every one of you who pops by and leaves such sweet and encouraging messages.....I am planning a candy soon so "watch this space"!! bx

Special Moments...

I just fancied doing something a bit "different" for a wee change!! So I "futtered" with some scraps of patterned paper, ribbon, and little bits n bobs that needed a home...this is the end result....I like it!! I'm gonna go "futter" some more now....the inspiration has taken a "wander"...lets hope its not gone for long!! bx

3 for the price of 1!!

Oh yessss....get me!! Three current challenges in the one card...and....not even a pick of red to boot!!

I used the fab sketch by Friday sketchers which I really liked.

Next up is the challenge (and to me this WAS a challenge!!) by Penny Black Saturday Challenge to make your creation with "No Pink"....almost every paper I looked through had pink in somewhere...notice I didn't even venture down the old red route...? Next best thing after that was orange...well I had to brighten it somewhere, somehow!!

And last but not least is the Cute Card Thursday's latest challenge "The Two of Us".....ain't no room for no-one else in that ickle matchbox!! bx

Pretty in Pink

This is another "special" I was asked for recently.....my remit was to make a card for a lady captain's golf day, who wanted charity donations to breast cancer instead of a present...this is what I came up with. I love this scalloped paper by Autumn Leaves; and I'm still enjoying the wonky stitched look!! i was really pleased with how this one turned out!

...and of course I couldn't just leave that beautiful scalloped paper in the "scraps" box could I? So I rustled up another 2 cards...this is one of them...I thought this one had a nice feminine feel to it....it took a bit of work to make that impression obsession sentiment fit around my blooms...got there in the end!!
Which cardstock base do you prefer...the pink or the cream (or some-one "naughty" might say neither!!!!!)...I couldn't decide! bx

Katharina the proud owner of the new stamp company Whiff of Joy is celebrating 100,000 hits with a very special candy offer! Tilda & Co Challenge 30!

Yaaayyyyyy...I finally got the proverbial finger out and managed to join in a CURRENT challenge again....my first time joining in Tilda & Co too!! It was a really simple sketch and I thought I HAD to give it a go!! The super prize is a nice incentive too!!

So...I thought it was high time some of my eagerly awaited magnolia club stamps saw a little ink.....now is it only me or did anyone else think he was missing a leg of his stool...(alright only part of should show!!)....it just didn't "sit well" with me (pun intended!!) so I had to draw in the missing part....so much better!!

I finally opened this Rockstar paper pad by DCWV I got a few months ago...the background paper with the guitar and musical notes etc was just made for this guy...I covered in the word ROCKSTAR with stickles so it glitters nicely in real life...I stamped "U R A" on a chipboard star, and added a few more brad stars to complete the look...and bummah...I am one short...thats a little shopping spree for me!! bx

Does pink count...?

......towards my RED fetish...? haha I'm not too sure who this image is by (maybe some-one can enlighten me!!)...it's another image from Frances (thank you Frances!)....but it is waaaaay cute!!

This card started life as a 2sketches4you sketch.....but then I realised my main image was too big...but here it is anyway!! That's another one for the craft fair then!! bx

It's Candy Time!!

Carla is offering a whole buncha yummy crafty "toys"...I visited tonight for the first...but DEFINITELY not the last time...she has some fabulous creations on her blog...check it out!

Sassy....

I was asked to make a "girlie" card for a 4 year old recently....I used this cute Sarah Kay image and used an "old" poetic artistry sketch for the layout!! The large flower is from Making Memories...I LOVE their products...the dots on the flower are "flock" so makes the bloom really tactile....hopefully the birthday girl will enjoy her card!! bx

Friday 1 August 2008

Yum yum...!!

Gosh.....see all these yummy "toys"...they could be YOURS!! Camilla is offering this HUGE lot to one lucky lucky crafter.......if you "fancy yer chances" pop across to her gorgeous blog and join in the fun!!

PS Don't forget to get this months Craft Stamper....Marlene is featured and you won't want to miss this!! bx

Sweet Treats!

I have had soooo much fun playing with the images I've been sent....LOVE this one from Elisabeth Bell...she is a real cutie!! More beautiful papers from My Minds Eye...a simple embellishment...and it's done!! This one started off as a sketch...just didn't end up that way!!

I started helping my mum to create a scrapbook September 2006 (yes, 2006!!) we worked away once a week on it until the beginning of December that same year then we took a break for christmas.....well another christmas came and went in our break...finally a month or so ago I got back to it...and last night I completed it...yaaaayyyy!! I mean completely finished....it looks well....it contains lots of memorabilia that my Gran had collected over the years and mum didn't want to part with...we've also included a little family history...feels good to be "done"....now mum can enjoy "showing it off" to all her aunts etc who helped with the info!!

During that "break" I did make some other little projects with the things Gran collected...she had approximately 40 years of postcards friends and family had sent her from all over the world.....I found one my Granda had sent to her when he was working away from home when I was only a few months old (yep that was a day or so ago!!)....that might have caused a little tiny tear...!

Just before I finish...another very generous blog candy is being offered by Tanja in celebration of her reaching 5000 hits....well done Tanja!! bx
