Love birds

When I first saw this FAB sketch over at "The Sugar Bowl" I thought it was itchin' to have a lil secret message...and wouldn't you know that valentine's is just around the corner.....the perfect time for secret notes.....and so my idea began!!

I used one of my new images "Winter Birds".....I love it and wanted a few nice images so that i can get cracking away at my christmas cards all year instead of leaving it all to the last minute!! But i think this image is also perfect for valentines.

I coloured Winter Birds with my Prisma colours, used some Making Memories, Rouge (from a 6x6 pad), a few Prima blooms, not sure who the brads or photo turn are from - sorry! The Love Birds sentiment is off an acrylic plate by American Crafts.
The inside sentiment is an A Muse stamp - it actually reads "you make life sweet"...but i didn't ink the s and then wrote the wobbly T (with a fine line pen) to make "tweet" instead....i was happy with the results!! And it means I am ahead of the game for once...WOW! bx

U R 2 Today!!

And now for something completely different from me...a lil robot!! I picked up a Sandylion set of acrylic stamps last time I was in America, and this lil guy was on the plate....
I've coloured him with Prisma colours and teamed him up with some MME papers, (ok so no changes there then!! lol). The sentiment is created by using Making Memories glittery lettering....and a lil tip for you if I may....you see those antennae, well I covered those with the "centres" of letters like "o" - you know the bits we normally discard...although you can't see it on my photo they add a bit of glitter and it twinkles nicely!!
I added a few tini brads to the body of the robot, and some diamond glaze to other parts (like the circles on his forehead) to add dimension.
Think thats about it....except to say I used the fab sketch at Papertake Weekly so obviously I shall enter my card there!! I kept my card pretty "simple" as its for the male species - yeah, they just don't have the same appreciation of flowers and bows as us gals!!

Thanks a Bunch!

This weeks challenge at Just Magnolia is" Thank You", so I'd like to enter this lil lady!

I coloured her with Prisma colours, used MME papers (LOVE the colours of them!), I also used some Making Memories "ribbon" (the velvet flowers), (mandatory) Prima flowers, I'm not sure who the pearl brad is from but the sentiment is by Stampendous.

Please go here to enter my Sugar Nellie candy - good luck everyone!

Of course it is fitting on this post for me to thank everyone who leaves such sweet comments! bx

When Caitlyn becomes Henry!

I love the new baby range from Sugar Nellie....this is actually baby Caitlyn, but I've "altered" her hat from a lil flowery number to a "spotty" one!!
I used the previous sketch from The Sugar Bowl to create this card, and some yummy October Afternoon papers. I coloured with Prisma colours, and was surprised how quick this image was to colour.
As i mentioned, I altered the flowery hat...initially I used a gel pen, but it was too heavy, so I restamped the hat and used a glittery pen instead, then simply decoupaged the hat (i only used foam pads at the top to leave different levels although you can't see that in my photo!!).
Other ingredients: Making Memories felt heart, letter tabs and glittery number/letters, Hero Arts sentiment, dummy is unknown.
I'd like to enter this card into Creative inspirations (my first time entering this challenge site!!)....the challenge is "new year, new products" and of course my baby image is exactly that!
Have you joined in my Sugar Nellie candy yet...? bx

Let's go Giants, lets go!!

It's my nephew Daniel's birthday tomorrow....he's a great wee ice skater and plays for the junior Belfast Giants....so this stamp from Motivet was perfect for him!
I've used this weeks sketch from Motivet...gosh its been a day or two since I set an eyelet!! I coloured the image using Prisma colours and added a little diamond glaze and stickles to the puck.
The Giants team colours are red, white and green - hence my paper choice (Basic Grey and Memory Box). The black ribbon is from my new christmas jammies, and the glittery letters are from Making Memories. I've had this team chant running through my head since I added it to the card!! lol bx

A New Home!

Happy 2010 to everyone in blogland!! I got sooooooo tied up with the season, then I was sick (again!!).... and then...just pure lazy!! But...here I am again and looking forward to another crafty year...can't wait to see all the new goodies that all the companies are furiously trying to get ready for CHA!!
I must say I LOVE this Basic Grey collection....LOVE the colours and have thoroughly enjoyed playing with it. I made this card for a friend who happened to move into an old 3storey house so this image from Magnolia suited beautifully!! I coloured it with Prisma colours, added a little ribbon and there we have it!!
As it has a heart on the door and my Heidi Swapp chipboard embellishment heart, it qualifies for this weeks challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar. bx
